Degree Spotlight: Business Intelligence Master's at Full Sail University
The Business Intelligence Master of Science degree at Full Sail University
The Business Intelligence master of science degree at Full Sail University gives students the skills they need to turn data into useful insights for organizations of all types. Program Director Victoria Wasinger explains, "By the time you graduate, you'll be prepared to assume management level positions to serve as a bridge between developers and executives."
Businesses have the ability to collect an unprecedented amount of information about their target audiences, market potential, and product opportunities. The Business Intelligence degree program puts an emphasis on what to do with this data to develop useful solutions and make strategic decisions.
Students in this program start by building strong foundations in business process analysis (BPA) and business intelligence (BI) systems. You'll learn how to identify precise problems, find and correct errors in data, and recognize patterns in data to make an informed decision.
Throughout the program, we've chosen case studies and interactive assignments that demonstrate how an effective business intelligence system is used to solve a variety of real-world business problems. You'll examine these case studies and propose solutions that utilize business intelligence technologies and analysis.
Communication is key in any business venture. You'll also learn how to clearly communicate the information you've uncovered with creative data visualizations and reporting. Using dashboards and software applications, you can create responsive web design for impactful, real-time infographics. Since presenting data to audiences of varying technical backgrounds is a key to a successful career in business intelligence, this program will also help you hone your communication skills in virtual meetings, interviews, and presentations.
Full Sail graduate and undergraduate programs are more than just theory. We focus on practical application and portfolio-building experiences to give you an upper hand in the job market. "The program culminates in a capstone project in which you will prepare and deliver a comprehensive, data-informed solution for a chosen client," says Victoria.
As you build your capstone project, you'll have access to a variety of resources through the Full Sail Digital Library as well as the tools and technology used by professionals in the industry. You'll learn how it's done in the real world by exploring areas like process simulation modeling (PSIM), enterprise risk modeling, A/B testing, and Monte Carlo simulation.
"It's our goal to be able to train you in a variety of capacities across many different industries. With the robustness of data collection and associated technology comes opportunities that didn't exist a few years ago," says Victoria. "We encourage you to use our flexible and personalized curriculum to engage with the topics, technologies, and fields that interest you."
