Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Full Sail
Published on Dec 15, 2021 by Bridgette Cude
How we're working to make Full Sail a more safe, equitable, and inclusive environment for all.
At Full Sail, we believe that diversity contributes to a more creative learning experience, more effective staff, and a brighter future for our students. Our diversity, inclusion, and belonging efforts are a serious part of making Full Sail University an exceptional school that gives students a safe, equitable place to learn.
Learning & Growing
"Learn and grow always" is a guiding principle at Full Sail. It means that our instructors and staff continue to keep up with the changes that are relevant to their industry as well as the art of teaching.
A big part of that continuing education is monthly diversity, inclusion, and belonging training. Staff and instructors learn how to respect diversity and to be sensitive and inclusive to a variety of student identities, situations, and backgrounds.
That training includes online courses, podcasts, and diversity talks on subjects like race, religion, LGBTQ+ issues, gender, neurodiversity, microaggressions, communication strategies, accessibility, and educational allyship.
Inclusion & Representation
Hiring practices play a crucial role in creating a fair and empowering educational environment. Full Sail is committed to hiring staff and faculty that are representative of our community in all of its vibrant diversity.
That brings a range of voices to the table that can understand our students' unique perspectives and help make our university more empathetic and more effective.
