ESPN and Krewella Film NCAA Women's Basketball Intro on Campus
Full Sail University's campus played host to another video shoot for ESPN last month, this time for ESPN's coverage of the 2013 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship Presented by Capital One. Electronic music group Krewella – whose single, "Alive," has more than five million views on YouTube – spent Monday, March 18, on Full Sail's Backlot, shooting a performance of "Alive" in front of 180 Full Sail University students who served as extras. More than 20 Full Sail students assisted ESPN's production crew during the shoot.
The Backlot was transformed into a Bourbon Street-style setting during the Krewella performance to coincide with this year's NCAA Women's Final Four being held in New Orleans, Louisiana. The performance video incorporates tournament highlights and is already being used during ESPN's NCAA Regional coverage of the tournament, which started on Saturday. ESPN has exclusively aired the NCAA Division Women's Basketball Championship for 11 straight years. The NCAA Women's Final Four airs on April 7 and 9 on ESPN.
