Full Sail Named Best Place to Work by ‘Orlando Business Journal’
The school earned a spot on the publication’s 2021 list by creating a rewarding workplace for more than 2,200 employees.
Every year, the Orlando Business Journal publishes its Best Places to Work list, which honors Orlando-area employers who go above and beyond to foster enjoyable, meaningful work environments. Full Sail was honored in the publication’s 2021 list as a Best Place to Work in the giant category, which features companies with more than 250 employees.
Full Sail has over 2,200 staff and faculty members on its 210-acre campus. The school’s employees serve more than 22,000 students both on campus and on the school’s virtual platform, and more than 80,000 students have graduated from Full Sail since it was established in 1979. Full Sail president Garry Jones talked about the school’s commitment to its students and graduates during the Orlando Business Journal’s 2021 awards ceremony.
“The faculty and staff of Full Sail are the heartbeat of our university community. For over 40 years, our guiding principles have been our North Star, and the same will be found true in the years to come,” Garry said. “Thank you to our Full Sail family for supporting our students’ dreams, staying innovative, and learning and growing always — you are the reason we are receiving this amazing honor of being named a Best Place to Work by Orlando Business Journal.”
The award was especially meaningful after Full Sail supported its students throughout 2020. The school’s faculty and staff brought their ingenuity, technological expertise, and robust virtual curricula to Full Sail’s student-centric culture during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, students were able to safely continue their education during unprecedented times.
“Each member of Full Sail’s faculty and staff share their unique skills and passion for Full Sail’s mission every day,” said Mary Beth Plank-Mezo, Full Sail’s Vice President of Staff and Cultural Development. “With a people-first approach to our culture, we are humbled to have the hard work and dedication of our phenomenal employees recognized by this prestigious award.”
