Full Sail University and USNDA announce partnership, new drone lab
Partnership will bring new opportunities for students
Since its inception, Full Sail has embraced emerging technologies across its campus - building real-world environments that feature everything from recording studios and film facilities to fabrication labs, simulation technology, and advanced AR/VR capabilities. This deep and ongoing commitment has given our students access to the industry's latest technology across every educational discipline we teach.
That investment in emerging technologies has led the United States National Drone Association (USNDA) to partner with Full Sail on a new initiative focusing on real-world drone or Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) applications. The USNDA has announced plans to establish its national headquarters on Full Sail's campus, giving Full Sail students the opportunity to work on a wide range of (UAS) applications that will include disaster relief, conservation efforts, live production, film production, and more.
The partnership is a natural fit for Full Sail, where students already take advantage of our emerging technology knowledge and facilities to work on a wide range of real-world projects that incorporate fabrication, visualization, computer science, AI, and GPS coordination. The past years have seen students in our emerging technologies programs create projects that include a Formula 1 race car simulator, a medical VR training program, and a patented technology that assists with special needs therapy.
With this extensive grounding in real-world fabrication, programming, and prototyping, students and faculty will be able to build on our long history of innovation to work with the USNDA on UAS initiatives, creating even more opportunities to design the technology of the future.
