Full Sail’s Campus Mentors Bring Ease to Enrollment Process
Incoming students receive one-on-one support from a member of the campus Admissions team to help with onboarding and more.
When getting started in the college enrollment process, you may find yourself with many questions. That’s why Full Sail offers a Campus Mentor Program to help new campus students navigate their way through the enrollment process in the lead-up to Orientation Week.
How the Campus Mentor Program Works
As soon as a new student’s application is processed, they are assigned a campus mentor who will check in via email, text, or phone call to answer questions and provide the student and their family members with focused, one-on-one support.
“As soon as the student is enrolled, as soon as their application processes, they are assigned to a mentor, and that mentor immediately jumps into action for the action. So, on day one of that student being a new applicant, the mentor is trying to connect to provide any help they can,” shares Director of Campus Admissions Brandon Gibbs.
Benefits of the Campus Mentor Program
While students and their families benefit from the direct and dedicated support of their mentor, they will also work with other members of the core Admissions team to focus on logistics like adjusting degree choice or start dates, required assessments, and financial aid. Mentors are always available to answer questions.
“The goal of the mentor is to provide one-to-one attention and elevate the level of service, while the core team fills in additional support where needed,” adds Brandon.
For mentors in the program, elevating the student experience is their most important goal.
“The program allows a mentor to learn more about the student and their goals, and explain to them how to achieve the best experience at Full Sail, all while building a relationship that will enhance the student’s journey,” shares Campus Admissions Mentor Carina Secor Billings. “The mentor is always rooting for the student and is there to help if they hit a roadblock and need direction.”
Opportunities to Meet Campus Mentors in Person
Students can meet their mentors during the Behind the Scenes campus tour, as well as during Orientation Week. These one-on-one meetings allow students and their family members to connect with their mentor, who will help answer any final enrollment-related questions and direct them to the appropriate resources and departments that will guide them through the rest of their academic journey.
“Nothing is more meaningful than knowing I had a small part in helping them reach their success,” says Carina.
