Grad Fernando Coser: Athlete Manager at XYZSPORTS in Miami

“I love to form champions in sports and in life.” That’s the reason Entertainment Business master’s grad Fernando Coser goes to work every day at XYZSPORTS.
At the sports marketing agency based in Miami, Fernando develops plans, and sets up the races and schedules for some big names in the racing world, including Nelson Piquet Jr., Tony Kanaan, Roberto Lorena, and Felipe Fraga who races in the Eurocup Renault Series in Europe. He also works with the NBA’s Scott Machado, and Fabiano Vieira, a professional bull rider.
“I’m at a lot of the races, where I am working on the schedules, sponsorship tasks, media activity, and soaking up the adrenaline of the competition. There is nothing like the engine roar, the competition, and the wins,” says Fernando, who is now the athlete manager of the racing department at XYZ. “I love my job because I don’t have a fixed routine. Every day we have new challenges and new experiences.”
Part of what makes Fernando so passionate about his work, besides the awesome travel experiences, is his strong belief in what he does for the athletes he represents. “I help young drivers develop their career overseas, I protect their interests, find sponsorship opportunities for them, and give professional direction,” he says. “Most of the time you become part of their family. We usually spend more time traveling around the world with them than with our own family.”
A native of Brazil, Fernando began his career in sports management in his homeland before deciding to come to the U.S. to improve his English and study at Full Sail.
“Before I finished the program, I applied to many companies but my goal was to be hired by XYZSPORTS, because XYZ Live / Sports is the number one Brazilian entertainment company and the 15th biggest entertainment company around the world,” says Fernando. “It’s been an amazing opportunity. I don’t have enough words to express how I’m happy about my life.”
